ESG
The environmental and social aspects of how we run our company.
We are a climate-friendly communications agency
fiveandfriends has been climate-friendly since 2021 — including our own carbon balance and every print production we commission. We generate our office electricity from our own solar array, and with „WE WANT MOOR e.V." we founded an association to protect German peatlands. We only talk about ESG because we live it ourselves. That is the basis on which we do sustainability communications for our clients.
Sustainability for our clients
What we live internally, we pass on: we support our clients with their own sustainability communications — from consulting to delivery.

ESG communications for fund products
For fund providers, we translate sustainability into regulated communications: sustainability reports, Article 8/9 investor information under SFDR and the clear presentation of ESG figures for sales and advisory boards — consistent across the full reporting cycle.
Let's do it together
Why does sustainability concern you too?
In short: because of the consequences of climate change. Glaciers melt, sea levels rise, droughts and heatwaves increase, floods and storms cause devastation. Add to that the damage to biodiversity and ecosystems. Many animal and plant species are threatened or already extinct. A large share of the damage affects buildings and infrastructure — roads, bridges and railways. So it is worth asking what the growing number of climate-driven disasters means for the real estate market.
A selection of the effects on the real estate market
Global warming drives heatwaves, heavy rain, storms and hail — natural disasters are on the rise. For the real estate market, that means:
- Direct or consequential building damage from extreme weather
- Greater vulnerability of older buildings
- Higher maintenance and operating costs
- Costs to restore damaged parts of buildings
- No or only partial use of properties — and therefore no or only part of the rental income during refurbishment
- Higher insurance premiums, or properties becoming uninsurable
- Investment in resilience measures (cooling systems or moisture barriers)
Sustainability reporting and good governance
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires the publication of an annual sustainability report. Under the CSRD, companies must also report on the sustainability of their supply, finance and service chains. Sustainability reporting is becoming a core topic of corporate communications and will stand on a par with financial reporting. fiveandfriends has prepared for this and published its own sustainability report — with far more than just figures: fiveandfriends.earth.
WE WANT MOOR
The association „WE WANT MOOR — Association for the Protection of German Peatlands" advances the protection of existing peatlands and the regeneration of peatland areas in Germany, and shares the knowledge of sustainable action. Climate protection means WE WANT MOOR: wewantmoor.de
ESG communications that hold up
Sustainability only works in communications when it is backed by evidence. With our own carbon balance, solar array and peatland association, we speak from experience. What that looks like for your organisation, we work out in conversation — Susanne Hübel is your point of contact.
